When a Department of Labor (DOL) accepted illness leads to, contributes to, or worsens another illness, condition, or disease, it can be classified as a consequential condition. For instance, a claimant undergoing chemotherapy for cancer was awarded by the DOL.

Besides Radiogenic Cancers, Part B of the EEOICPA also covers beryllium sensitivity, chronic beryllium disease (CBD), and chronic silicosis.

If eligible for EEOICPA benefits under Part E, the claimant can request an impairment rating to be performed by an appropriate physician.
